Although a professional look to your site is important, its success or failure will depend largely on the content. The more material (visual as well as text) we have to work with, the easier it will be to make an attractive and useful site. The instructions below provide 3 methods for providing us with material for use during site construction as well as into the maintenance phase following its completion. Note that these instructions apply to PC users only. All material submitted on disk or by email-attachment must be in PC format. Mac users should send all material by pasting text into email or mailing hard copies of material.

By Email
Follow the directions below to send text by email for posting:

  1. Open document with text you want to send.
  2. Go to “Edit”, “Select All” (or press Ctrl-A), or use the mouse to highlight a section.
  3. Go to “Edit”, “Copy” (or press Ctrl-C).
  4. Go into your email program and open a new composition.
  5. In the “to” box, type: jcc@foresitenow.com
In the “subject” box, put your web site name and a brief description (i.e. info to post).
  6. In the body of the email, type a description of where you want the material placed and insert a few extra lines.
  7. Go to “Edit”, “Paste” (or press Ctrl-V).
  8. Check to see that info was pasted in, be sure you are currently online, and then click the send button.

By Email Attachment
The easiest file type to post online is called RTF (Rich Text Format). To save a file in “RTF format”:

  1. Open the file you want to send to us
  2. Go to “File,” “Save As”
  3. From the file type box at the bottom, select “Rich Text Format (*.rtf)”
  4. Click “Save”
To send us the file:
  1. Follow steps #4-6 under the “By Email” instructions above.
  2. Find the “attachments” button in your email program.
  3. Enter the file name or click the browse button to find it on your computer.
  4. Make sure the file name appears somewhere on your email window and then click send.

By Disk

  1. Find a blank disk you don’t need and make sure it is empty.
  2. Open the file you want to put on disk and choose “File”, “Save As”
  3. Click in the window at the top (following “Save in:”) and select “3 1/2” Floppy (A:)”
  4. From the file type box at the bottom, select “Rich Text Format (*.rtf)”
  5. Click save.
  6. Mail disk with instructions to address below.

By Mail

We can add photos, images, and even text documents to your site using our scanner. If you send us material by mail, please be sure to include the following information:

  1. How you would like the material used.
  2. What materials (if any) you would like returned.

Keep in mind that this is the least efficient method, especially for text documents. Sending electronic format whenever possible will help ensure that your monthly service does not far exceed the amount included with your maintenance plan.
